The C1 Chem symposium “Catalytic Chemistry of C1 Molecules “ will take place at Lille (France) from July 10th to 12th, 2024. The symposium program includes several plenary, keynote lectures, numerous oral presentations and a poster session.  Papers for the C1 Chem Symposium will be selected by the Scientific Committee of renowned experts. After the symposium, the participants will have an opportunity to submit a full paper to a top chemical journal. The symposium will be conducted as a satellite event of the 18th International Congress of Catalysis.

The ongoing societal transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources requires the development of energy-efficient, selective and waste-free catalytic processes for C1 molecules, which occur under mild conditions. The symposium is intended to offer an update of recent innovations in both fundamental and applied aspects of catalytic utilization of CO2, CO, methane, methanol, formaldehyde and formic acid. The particular focus will be on hydrogen production and storage using C1 molecules. The symposium will emphasize catalyst design, thermocatalysis, homogeneous catalysis, heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, catalyst characterization, modelling, kinetics, process design and intensification. Our goal is to enable researchers from different fields to exchange views and to create a synergy of knowledge.
